We are looking for a caring, patient and experienced SEN TA to join a welcoming primary school in Redbridge, supporting a Reception child with ASD who is non-verbal and requires dedicated 1:1 support.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate SEN TA who has experience working with children with autism and understands the importance of a calm, consistent and nurturing approach.
The successful SEN TA will work closely with the child throughout the school day, supporting their communication, learning, development and emotional regulation. Personal care is also required as part of the role, so the successful candidate must be comfortable providing this support.
The Role
As a SEN TA, You Will
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception child with ASD.
- Support a non-verbal child with their communication and interaction.
- Help the child access learning and classroom activities.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Encourage independence and development through age-appropriate activities.
- Provide personal care when required.
- Follow individual support strategies and guidance from the school.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team.
- Build a trusting and positive relationship with the child.
- Help create a safe, calm and supportive learning environment.

About You
The school is looking for a SEN TA who:
- Has previous experience supporting children with ASD or complex SEN.
- Has experience supporting non-verbal children or children with communication needs.
- Is comfortable providing personal care.
- Is patient, caring and consistent.
- Understands the importance of routine and structure when supporting children with ASD.
- Can adapt their communication and approach to meet the child's individual needs.
- Is confident providing 1:1 support.
- Can build strong and trusting relationships with children.
- Works well as part of a wider school team.
- Is reliable and available for an immediate start.
