Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Offer 1:1 and small-group support to children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) or ASD.
- Assist in delivering EHCP outcomes under the direction of the school SENDCo.
- Adapt learning activities using visual timetables, PECS, or sensory tools to encourage pupil focus.
- Promote positive behavior management and emotional well-being using structured praise.
- Assist in maintaining accurate progress logs and notes for parent handovers.
Requirements for the Role
- Practical experience in a child-centered environment with a focus on special needs support.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting diverse learning requirements.
- Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in both English Language and Mathematics.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
