Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Ashley Park School, Epsom, Surrey KT18 7LR
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and a skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels understood, valued and empowered to thrive. Through your encouragement, patience and support, you'll play a vital role in helping young people overcome challenges, celebrate successes and achieve milestones they never thought possible.

What You'll Be Doing
- Bring learning to life by supporting teachers to deliver engaging, creative and personalised lessons that inspire every pupil.
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils overcome barriers, access learning and achieve their individual goals.
- Build confidence, independence, communication skills and positive relationships, empowering pupils to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
- Champion positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing, creating a calm, safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
- Support the planning, delivery and review of personalised learning activities and individual support plans that maximise pupil progress.
- Prepare engaging learning resources and help create stimulating classrooms that spark curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, families and external professionals to provide consistent, joined-up support that enables every pupil to succeed.
- Maintain accurate records while upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and pupil wellbeing, ensuring every child is protected and supported.

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Patient, compassionate and committed to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
- A positive team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Adaptable, resilient and able to respond confidently to individual pupil needs.
- Previous experience working with children with SEN or relevant SEN qualifications are beneficial, but not essential – we'll provide training and support to help you succeed.
- Willing to learn, develop and work towards further professional qualifications.
- Holds a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
- Committed to completing all relevant induction and mandatory training.
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Ashley Park School is a brand-new independent specialist school in Epsom, Surrey, for autistic young people aged 11–19, with a capacity for 60 pupils.
We provide a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Personalised teaching, differentiated lessons, and tailored therapeutic support ensure each pupil’s unique needs and abilities are met.
