Rikama Education is a trusted partner to Kent County Council, providing experienced SEN Tuition support to Children and Young People (CYP) across Margate.
We are currently recruiting for dedicated and experienced professionals for SEN Tutor jobs in Margate, delivering personalised 1:1 home & virtual tuition to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is ideal for qualified teachers and experienced SEN specialists seeking flexible, meaningful work.
As a SEN Tutor, you will deliver between 10-20 hours of tuition per week per student as part of a young person's EHCP or care package, often working within the family home or virtually and closely alongside parents and multi-agency professionals.
The SEN Tutor Role
- Deliver structured 1:1 SEN tuition in Margate (typically home-based provision).
- Support CYP with EHCPs and complex additional needs.
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning goals.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and parents.
- Provide progress reports in line with Kent County Council requirements.

Many of our SEN Tutor placements involve supporting learners with:
- Autism (ASD) and ADHD.
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs).
- Anxiety and EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance).
- Moderate learning difficulties.
- Medical needs or complex profiles.
SEN Tutor Requirements
To be considered for this SEN Tutor position, you should have:
- QTS / QTLS (strongly preferred) OR substantial experience working as a SEN Tutor or supporting children with SEN.
- Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or alternative provision.
- Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
