Inspiring Opportunity: Part-time SEN Tutor Sought in Surrey

Are you an exceptional educator with a flair for supporting students with diverse learning needs? Our client, a leading educational organisation in Surrey, is seeking a talented and dedicated Part-time SEN Tutor to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners, with a competitive salary and flexible working arrangements.

As a Part-time SEN Tutor, you will have the chance to work with a range of students, from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 5, providing personalised support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential. Your role will involve creating engaging, differentiated lesson plans that cater to the unique learning styles and needs of each student, ensuring that they feel empowered, motivated, and confident in their abilities.

Salary Benefits For This Role Are As Follows

  • KS1 - KS4 Material: £31 or £36 per hour (online vs in-person)
  • KS5 Material or above: £40 or £45 per hour (online vs in-person)

Additionally, our client offers support for travel to in-person tuition, with a mileage reimbursement of £0.45 per mile.

Responsibilities

As a Part-time SEN Tutor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of each student's learning needs, strengths, and areas for improvement
  • Developing individualised learning plans that address the unique requirements of each student
  • Delivering engaging and effective lessons that incorporate a range of teaching strategies and resources
  • Providing ongoing support, feedback, and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education
  • Maintaining detailed records of student progress and actively participating in regular review meetings
  • Continuously updating your own knowledge and skills to stay at the forefront of best practices in SEN education

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications And Experience

  • A relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or a degree in Education
  • Extensive experience working with students who have special educational needs, preferably in a tutoring or teaching capacity
  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to implement effective strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues
