We are looking for a motivated, organised and compassionate SEND Casework Officer to join our SEND team at City of York Council.

This is a varied and rewarding role in which you will support children, young people and their families through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and planning process and beyond. About The Role

As a SEND Casework Officer, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people through statutory SEND processes.
  • Coordinate EHC needs assessments, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and associated casework.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure cases progress within statutory requirements and timescales.
  • Communicate clearly and sensitively with families, particularly where situations may be complex or challenging.
  • Contribute to annual review and transition processes and help ensure plans remain focused on the child or young person’s needs, aspirations and outcomes.
  • Support effective partnership working and contribute to the continuous improvement of SEND services.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
