SEND Teacher (Early Years, KS1 & KS2)

Salary: Teacher Main Scale - M1 – UPS to be considered

Part-time contract – 0.8 across the week, Monday to Friday

Start date: October 2026, other start dates would be considered

Dickens Heath Community Primary School is seeking a passionate, skilled, and nurturing SEND Teacher to join our team, working directly with children across the school with communication, interaction, and social and emotional needs, as well as working with school staff and leaders to develop the curriculum and provision to enable all children to thrive. About The Role

We are looking for a teacher who can deliver high-quality, personalized, and inclusive learning that supports pupils’ communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and independence. You will create a safe, structured, and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

You will work closely with our senior leadership team, dedicated support staff, families, and a range of external professionals to ensure each child achieves their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

What we ask of you:

• Plan and deliver personalized learning and targeted intervention for pupils with communication, interaction, and emotional regulation needs.
• Use specialist approaches including Total Communication, Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism, TEACCH, visual supports, and sensory-based learning.
• Oversee the curriculum development, planning, and assessment of our communication and social and emotional school offer.
• Coach, guide, and support school staff to confidently implement the graduated approach to support SEND pupils with communication, interaction, and social and emotional needs.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and support emotional regulation using positive behavior support.
• Work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, support staff, and multi-agency professionals.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessments, and multi-agency meetings.
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and inclusive practice.
