Salary is between £25,585 and £30,915 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

37 hours per week – 40 weeks per year

About The Role
We are currently seeking a SEND Emotional Support Facilitator to join our Foundation Learning & Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a SEND Emotional Support Facilitator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- SEND Emotional Wellbeing & Learner Support - Provide high-quality emotional, social and behavioural support to learners with SEND and EHCPs, helping them develop confidence, resilience, emotional literacy and readiness to learn through tailored interventions and mentoring.
- Haven Provision Management & Social Development - Manage the Haven environment, creating a safe and structured space that promotes positive behaviour, independence, social interaction, friendship development and inclusive student engagement.
- ELSA Interventions, Mentoring & Enrichment - Plan and deliver ELSA-informed one-to-one and small-group interventions, provide structured mentoring, and organise enrichment activities and off-site social events that support learners’ personal, social and emotional development.
- Collaboration, Communication & Progress Monitoring - Work closely with curriculum staff, pastoral teams, ALS colleagues, parents/carers and external agencies, while maintaining accurate records, monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes and contributing to learner reviews and support planning.
- Safeguarding, Inclusion & Professional Development - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety and student wellbeing, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of SEND and emotional literacy best practice and participating in ongoing professional development.
About You
- Qualifications, SEND Knowledge & Professional Development - Holds A Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification, GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), and an ELSA qualification or willingness to achieve one, with a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, post-16 education, safeguarding, equality and diversity, and current developments within further education.
- SEND Support & Learner Engagement - Experienced in supporting young people with SEND within educational settings, providing effective one-to-one support, promoting positive outcomes, and creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment that enables learners to thrive.
- Communication, Collaboration & Professional Relationships - Demonstrates excellent communication skills with students, parents, staff and external agencies, works effectively within multidisciplinary teams, makes appropriate referrals, and maintains professional boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Administration, IT & Organisational Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT systems, with excellent administrative, record-keeping and report-writing skills, the ability to prioritise workloads, work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Professionalism, Flexibility & Safeguarding Commitment - Able to work independently and adapt to changing environments, contribute positively to team objectives, continuously develop skills and knowledge, work flexibly including occasional evenings and travel between sites, while demonstrating a strong commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and promoting the College’s values and reputation.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
