Make a Meaningful Impact Behind the Scenes at Capital City College

Are you ready to make an impact at one of London’s leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a skilled SEND Job Coach to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

About The Role

This role is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis. The contract will be ending on the 9th of July 2027.

To enable young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to achieve sustainable, paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work through learning in the workplace.

To support interns in the workplace, provide the necessary coaching, training, and encouragement to enable them to succeed.

About You

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering excellent service. You should bring:

  • To support students on a day-to-day basis on their work placements.
  • Source appropriate placements for students that meet their needs and where possible, is within their preferred job industry. If possible, such placements should be likely to lead to paid employment when the internship ceases.
  • Through work performance evaluations, demonstrate a solid working knowledge of most frequently encountered barriers for the students and the ability to provide specific, quality service for them.
  • To reinforce employability skills learnt in class and to help students to understand protocols and interpret work culture. Ensure students understand the health and safety in the work environments and adopt appropriate workplace behaviour.
  • To coach interns in the essential tasks/duties/core skills of the job. Because the goal is independence, the Job Coach builds natural supports (mentors within the workplace) and reduces the amount of time spent with each student as core skills are developed.
  • To support Project Search Instructor in delivery of Maths, English and Employability workshops.
