Sometimes the right support can completely change how a young person experiences education.
A task that once felt impossible becomes manageable. A pupil who rarely participated starts putting their hand up. Someone who struggled to communicate begins finding ways to express what they need.
We're looking for caring and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive education setting in Plymouth, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.
You'll work directly with children and young people who need additional support to access learning, develop confidence and participate successfully in education.
Your Role
Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals, you'll provide support tailored around individual pupils.

You'll
- Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support.
- Help pupils access lessons and complete activities.
- Support young people with a range of additional learning needs.
- Adapt your approach around individual learning styles.
- Encourage communication and social interaction.
- Build positive, trusting relationships.
- Support confidence, resilience and independence.
- Help pupils manage emotions and challenging situations.
- Follow agreed individual learning and support strategies.
- Assist with classroom resources and activities.
- Observe progress and share relevant information with colleagues.
- Support pupils throughout the wider school day.
Who Are We Looking For?
Previous experience within education, SEND, care, youth work, mentoring or another child-focused environment would be valuable.
