Immediate Start - Specialist SEND Support Assistant (Long-Term Role)
West Drayton
£14.63-£16.53 per hour
Full-time | Monday-Friday | ASAP Start
A highly inclusive specialist school in West Drayton is seeking a committed Specialist SEND Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This long-term role offers the chance to support pupils with complex needs in a calm, structured and therapeutic environment.
About The School
This is a well-resourced SEND provision with a strong therapeutic ethos and a leadership team that is hands-on, supportive and invested in staff development. Pupils present with a range of needs including ASC, SLD, communication challenges and sensory processing differences, and the school prioritises consistency, emotional safety and personalised support.
Role Overview
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist with communication, emotional regulation and sensory strategies
- Use visual supports such as timetables, now/next boards and personalised learning tools
- Support pupils through structured routines, transitions and behaviour plans
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
- Help pupils build independence, confidence and engagement in learning

What You'll Need
- Genuine passion for supporting children with autism and complex needs
- Previous SEND experience or relevant background (psychology, youth work, sports coaching)
- DBS on the Update Service
- A calm, resilient and caring approach
