Luma Education Recruitment is working with an impressive specialist SEMH school in Peterborough to recruit an experienced SEND Maths Tutor.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a stunning specialist setting with small class sizes, a friendly and passionate team, and excellent facilities. Free on-site car parking is also available.

The successful Maths Tutor will deliver engaging and accessible Maths lessons to young people with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs, adapting teaching to meet individual abilities and needs.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging Maths lessons within a specialist SEND/SEMH setting
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional needs
  • Work with small class sizes to provide focused, individualised support
  • Build positive relationships and encourage engagement with learning
  • Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback
  • Work closely with a supportive and passionate teaching team

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Maths
  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH or additional needs is desirable
  • QTS, PGCE, PTLLS or equivalent teaching qualification desirable
  • Strong understanding of differentiated learning
  • Patient, supportive and engaging approach
  • Confident behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
