I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Complex Medical Needs & Infection Control
Our young person has complex medical needs, meaning infection prevention and control is an extremely important part of this role.
We are therefore looking for candidates who understand that even relatively minor illnesses or exposure to infection can present a significant risk to a medically vulnerable young person.
Successful Candidates Must Be Willing To
- Follow strict infection-control and hygiene procedures
- Use appropriate PPE when required
- Maintain excellent hand hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Be open and responsible regarding exposure to illness
- Inform the team immediately if they are unwell or have been exposed to infectious illness
- Understand that protecting the young person’s health and wellbeing must always come first
Full guidance around the young person’s individual needs and infection-control procedures will be provided.
Who We Are Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Experience with complex needs or medical needs would be beneficial
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Excellent reliability and communication skills
- The ability to follow individual support plans and professional guidance
- A strong understanding of safeguarding
- A responsible attitude towards infection prevention and control
- The ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
