SEND Programme Year Leader (Building Futures & Building Destinations)
Role: SEND Programme Year Leader for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities (internally referred to as Building Futures Year Leader)
Location
Our sessions are based at community venues across Surrey, with this role primarily located in Guildford and Woking.
Overview
Hiring for the position of ‘Year Leader’ to deliver exceptional, person-centred educational sessions through Building Futures and the newly launched Building Destinations Programme, welcoming a new year group to the programme. Click here to learn more about the Building Futures Programme.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver person-centred, goal-oriented educational sessions for adults with SEND (mild to moderate learning disabilities)
- Support delivery of sessions to groups of 6–12 participants within specifically structured timetables
- Provide a high level of support and service to participants, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Ensure safeguarding compliance, maintaining a well-led, responsive service aligned with regulations and legislation

Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Clear understanding of learning disabilities
- Exceptional communication skills
- Confidence in designing and leading group sessions for adults with disabilities
- Strong physical robustness to support the programme’s active community-based approach
- Prior experience in activity delivery for children/people with support needs (e.g., youth work, events, or SEND education)
- Proactive mindset, with commitment to self-improvement and programme development
- Application must provide a suitable reference and undergo a DBS check (première cost covered by halow)

Key Considerations:
- Must be aged 18+
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
Note: Opportunities are barred for applicants with unsupervised working restrictions under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 for selected adult groups/children.
Additional Details
- Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/week), Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with occasional weekends/evenings for events.
- Salary: £30,030 per annum
- Annual Leave: 33 days (including bank holidays)
- Training & Development: Fully funded further development opportunities available
