SEND Teaching Assistant – Year 4 1:1 Support

Location: Beckenham, United Kingdom

Start date: 12 October 2026

Salary: £90–£105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience

Hours: Term time only

About the role

Transparency Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support an academically able Year 4 pupil who is particularly strong in maths.

The pupil engages well with learning when emotionally regulated but needs consistent support with emotional regulation and behaviour. During dysregulation, behaviours may include climbing, hiding, throwing objects, vocalising and attempting to leave the classroom.

This rewarding role suits a calm, resilient professional who understands behaviour as communication and can balance compassionate support with clear boundaries.

Key responsibilities

  • Build a trusting relationship and recognise triggers and early signs of escalation.
  • Use regulation and de-escalation strategies, responding confidently to behaviour that may present a safety risk.
  • Support academic progress and engagement, building on the pupil’s strengths.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to maintain a consistent approach.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
