Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
Role of the apprentice
You will also deliver learning to the children on a bespoke timetable suitable for the children’s individual needs and abilities that have been provided by their schools and put in to planning by our activity planner. You will be an enthusiastic and positive person who is driven and passionate to help ‘pushed out’ learners develop skills to work through their struggles and become happy learners. Remembering every day is a new day.
You will be supporting the children that attend our provision providing them to develop skills and techniques that best suit them as an individual, so they are more equipped to manage and understand themselves as a “whole being” and pave their way back into education. You will do this by following and providing a consistent and structured routine which has a flexible smooth flow into each step, to decrease demand and anxiety for the children. Our daily routine is well set out to provide short bursts of learning activity, adult led activities and free play. Activities are based on the child’s individual outcomes, learning styles and abilities with the national curriculum in mind. The outcomes will be overseen by the directors and taken from their service agreement and regular review meetings, along with any additional support and reports from other professionals.
We also have daily staff and parent debriefs and monthly staff meetings so if any concerns or ideas that may be brought to our attention that a child needs extra support on then this will also be added into their planning. You will be encouraged to provide ideas and support to the designated activity planner, who will compile the planning of activities for each child, each day/session for you to follow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
