Teaching Tomorrow SEND Teaching Assistants
Teaching Tomorrow is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team and support primary schools across Bedfordshire. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about helping children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) thrive both academically and personally.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You may work on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or provide support within the wider classroom environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
- Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs, which may include autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupils' needs.
- Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop appropriate strategies for managing their emotions.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Encouraging independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents and other professionals where appropriate.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Following individual support plans and school policies.

We are looking for candidates who are:

- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Adaptable and willing to work across different primary school environments.
- Reliable, proactive and professional.
- A strong communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- Able to remain calm and supportive when managing challenging situations.
Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable. Experience within a primary school, specialist setting, childcare, youth work, care or a similar environment may also be beneficial.

Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are welcomed, although relevant experience and the right attitude are equally important.

It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. We offer payment via both Umbrella and PAYE Services
Salary: 110 - 120 GBP Per annum
