SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary Section

Part Time – FTC

Derby Grammar School are currently seeking an able, caring and enthusiastic Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join our thriving Senior School. The role would suit someone with prior experience supporting pupils with additional needs, or someone wishing to advance their career in the secondary SEND sector.
Derby Grammar School is a co-educational independent school providing exceptional education to pupils from Derby and across the county. Established in 1995 and located in the Derby suburb of Littleover, our beautiful grounds offer the ideal environment for a high-quality educational experience.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11–18 within our Secondary SEND Team. This varied role will include supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, PDA profiles, Dyslexia, Hyperlexia, Dyscalculia, and Hypermobility, as well as assisting them with organisation, exam preparation, and access arrangements. The role will focus on in-class support, individual interventions and the wider duties of the SEND department.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
- A recognised TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not required.
- Training in ASD, PDA, dyslexia or exam access arrangements is an advantage.
