Wage: £12,480 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. The hourly wage is £8. Please note this role is term-time only.
Training Course: Teaching assistant (level 3)
Hours: Monday- Friday 8:40am- 3:00pm (Term time only) 30 hours per week
Start Date: Friday 1 January 2027
Duration: 1 year 4 months

Summary
Assist in supporting individual pupils and small groups under the direction of the class teacher, deliver targeted class support and interventions, and participate in relevant TA meetings and training sessions.
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you'll do at work:
- Support learning for individual pupils and small groups under the guidance of the classroom teacher and Inclusion team
- Assist with implementing lesson plans and facilitating more ambitious learning activities
- Deliver class support and targeted interventions
- Undertake agreed activities and strategies for individual pupils and small groups
- Collaborate with the teacher on individual and group programmes of work, aligning with pupil targets and devising strategies to meet them
- Assist in liaising with other professionals, maintaining confidentiality
- Contribute to pupil observation, record keeping, and assessment
- Monitor, record, and analyse pupil data (e.g., worksheets) at the teacher’s request
- Organise and collate pupil reports as required
- Attend TA/staff meetings, planning sessions, and training where applicable
- Support school events and special occasions in the school’s annual calendar (if applicable)
- Assist with classroom administrative tasks (e.g., photocopying)
- Support pupils on educational trips (if applicable) and provide First Aid and/or playground supervision during lunch or breaks (if required)

Training Schedule: Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. Duration of course: 16 months. Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK!)
What you'll learn:
- Apply strategies to support and encourage the development of independent learners.
- Adapt communication strategies for the audience and context.
- Apply behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policy.
- Adapt resources to support all learners.
- Communicate with teachers to ensure clarity of the TA’s role.
- Apply teaching strategies to deliver learning activities or interventions.
- Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.
- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- GCSE in: Maths and English (grade 4)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
