Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are recruiting caring, patient and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work within inclusive primary schools across Islington and Camden from September. These rewarding roles involve supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning while developing their confidence and independence.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals with experience supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and other additional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Record progress and communicate effectively with teachers and SENCOs.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
  • Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting childrens development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
