Job title: SEND Teaching Assistant (PMLD) – Specialist School – Bromley
Location: Bromley, London
Salary: £93 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Start date: 9 November 2026
Contract: Full time, temporary, long term.
Hours: Term time; daily hours and assignment arrangements confirmed before placement.
Transparency Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school opportunity in Bromley, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
A change in expression, a movement towards a favourite object or a new way to make a choice can be an important step in learning. You will help pupils take part in individual learning activities and everyday school routines, paying close attention to how each child communicates. This role combines classroom support with personal care and practical assistance, always guided by individual plans and the training required for each task.
Responsibilities
- Support sensory activities and personalised learning at each pupil’s pace.
- Use agreed communication aids and allow time for pupils to respond.
- Assist with personal care, mobility and mealtime routines where required and appropriately trained.
- Observe engagement and share small changes with the class team.
- Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures and equipment guidance consistently.

Requirements
- Experience supporting children, young people or adults with complex needs.
- A respectful approach to personal care and a willingness to learn individual routines.
- Patient observation, dependable teamwork and clear communication.
- PMLD, moving and handling or alternative communication experience is useful.
- An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one as part of the recruitment process.
