SEND Teaching Assistant - PMLD - Specialist School in Wandsworth
£93 - £105 per day. Salary depends on qualifications and experience.
Start date: November 2026 | full-time, long-term, temporary
Hours: Term time, 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Support learning that starts with the individual pupil. Working with children and young people aged 4–19 in a specialist SEND setting, you will help learners with PMLD communicate, explore and participate, while providing sensitive support with their daily care. Transparency Education is recruiting for this position in Wandsworth.
The role includes support for complex physical, sensory and medical needs. Relevant training and guidance will be provided for specialist tasks, which must follow individual care plans.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for personalised learning
- Use agreed communication approaches and sensory resources
- Support personal care, mobility and feeding in line with care plans and training
- Work with teachers, therapists and healthcare colleagues, monitoring wellbeing
Role requirements
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD or closely related complex needs
- Willingness and ability to provide dignified personal care and safe practical support
- A patient, observant approach and commitment to safeguarding
- Special-school experience, moving and handling or communication training is desirable
- A commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
