Teaching Assistant G4

Salary: Grade 4

Hours: 32.5 per week, Term Time Only

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: 02/11/2026

Location: St Giles’ CE Primary School

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young children with additional needs? Do you have experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and supporting children with complex learning needs?

We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS Speech and Language Hub. This specialist provision supports young children with significant speech, language, and communication needs, helping them to develop the skills and confidence required to thrive both socially and academically.

About The Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, providing targeted support for children with speech, language, communication, and complex learning needs. You will help to create an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children with speech, language, and communication needs within the EYFS Speech and Language Hub.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities under the guidance of teachers and therapists.
  • Promote children's communication, social interaction, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, external professionals, and therapists.
  • Support observation, assessment, and record-keeping processes.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Has experience of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Has experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Has experience working with children with complex learning needs and/or additional needs.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Is committed to inclusion and achieving the best outcomes for every child.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
