SEND Teaching Assistant | Bromley | September Start
Are you passionate about supporting younger pupils with additional needs and looking for hands-on experience within a primary school? This SEND Teaching Assistant opportunity in Bromley offers the chance to work closely with pupils who require additional support with communication, learning, behaviour and social development.
Rather than simply providing classroom assistance, the successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the school's inclusion team to deliver targeted support. You'll help pupils access the curriculum while developing their independence, confidence and ability to engage positively with school life.
The role would suit graduates considering careers in SEND teaching, Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
Full Academic Year | £500–£550 per week

- Experience supporting SEND pupils within a mainstream primary environment
- Opportunities to deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Training around Autism, ADHD and communication needs
- Experience implementing individual support strategies and EHCP targets
- Regular guidance from experienced class teachers and inclusion staff
- Exposure to phonics, literacy and numeracy intervention
- Strong preparation for careers within SEND, Psychology or Teaching
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Delivering structured interventions
- Supporting communication and social development
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and remain engaged in learning
- Adapting activities alongside class teachers
- Recording progress and contributing to pupil support plans
