SEND LSA Psychology Graduate | York

Are you a switched-on Psychology Graduate looking for hands-on experience before pursuing a long-term career in Education or Teaching? A welcoming and ambitious mainstream Secondary School in York is seeking an enthusiastic graduate to join their team from September, initially until July 2027.

This role would suit someone with a genuine passion for education and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be proactive, approachable, and confident in building positive relationships with pupils, supporting them to overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

What You Need to Have:

  • A Psychology degree (ideally 2:1 or higher) and a genuine interest in Education or Teaching
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach to working with young people
  • The ability to build strong relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
  • A proactive and self-sufficient approach (you won't wait to be told what to do)

SEND LSA | The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Support pupils' learning, confidence, and engagement throughout the school day
  • Help young people overcome barriers and achieve their full potential
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND and pastoral teams
