Quantum Scholars is looking for a supportive, patient, and reliable 1:1 SEND Tutor to work with a young person in Herefordshire. This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.
The role will involve providing personalised educational support to a student who may benefit from a flexible and individualised approach to learning. You will be expected to build a positive and trusting relationship with the student, adapt your teaching to their individual needs, and help develop their confidence, engagement, and progress.
The role may involve:
- Delivering one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's individual needs
- Supporting the student across core academic subjects where appropriate
- Planning engaging and accessible learning activities
- Adapting teaching approaches to suit different abilities, learning needs, and levels of engagement
- Helping the student develop confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards learning
- Providing encouragement and consistent support to help the student re-engage with education
- Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and relevant professionals where required
- Maintaining clear and professional communication
- Following Safeguarding Procedures At All Times

Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational, tutoring, or support setting
- Experience providing one-to-one or personalised educational support
- The ability to adapt learning and teaching approaches to meet individual needs
- Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
- A patient, flexible, calm, and supportive approach
- A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check, where required
- Satisfactory professional references

Salary
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
