Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with Goonhavern School, are seeking to appoint an exceptional and passionate Class Teacher and SENDCo to join our nurturing village school community.
Goonhavern School is a warm, welcoming and ambitious one-form entry primary school at the heart of its community. This unique role combines teaching within a Year 2 class on a job-share basis with leadership of SEND provision across the school. Working closely with the Headteacher, staff team, families and external agencies, the successful candidate will lead and develop our inclusive practice, ensuring that pupils with special educational needs receive the support, challenge and opportunities they need to flourish both academically and personally.
We are looking for someone who will champion the needs of children with SEND, drive high standards of provision across the school and support colleagues to deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching for all learners. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our SEND strategy, monitoring pupil progress, developing staff expertise and strengthening partnerships with parents and external professionals.

About You
You will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a genuine passion for inclusion and a relentless commitment to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. You will believe that pupils with SEND deserve the very highest aspirations and will be driven to secure positive outcomes for children through high-quality teaching, effective provision and strong partnerships with families.
As our SENDCo, you will be a visible advocate for children with additional needs, championing their interests and ensuring that inclusion remains at the heart of school life. You will have a strong understanding of how to remove barriers to learning and will work proactively with staff to develop inclusive classroom practice, enabling all pupils to feel valued, supported and successful.
You will be an effective communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of building trusting relationships with families and who is committed to working in partnership to achieve the very best outcomes for children. You will be approachable, empathetic and solution-focused, recognising that successful inclusion is built on strong, positive relationships.
