Flexzo Teach | SEND / SEMH Mentor / Tutor (Outreach) (In-Person)
Exciting SEND mentoring and tutoring opportunities in your area with a leading specialist education provider.
Flexzo Teach connects exceptional educators and mentors directly with local specialist provisions for tailored 1:1 roles. We are currently looking for a dedicated Special Education Mentor/Tutor to support young people in the Eastleigh/Winchester area. This outreach setting provides personalized 1:1 support outside traditional classroom environments, focusing heavily on community-based activities, sports, and emotional regulation. We need someone who understands complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and can build trusted, low-arousal relationships through shared interests to help young people manage their needs and re-engage with learning.

- Permanent / Ongoing Role: 20 hours per week (schedule TBC across the week, starting ASAP).
- Work 1:1 face-to-face out in the community, utilizing sports, movement, and practical activities to deliver meaningful support.
- Build genuine connections and deliver tailored outreach support that directly empowers young people struggling with anxiety, self-regulation, and fixed mindsets.
What you need:
- Solid, hands-on experience supporting children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs (formal teaching qualifications are not required; practical experience and competency are key).
- Strong ability to support complex emotional, sensory, and behavioral needs using low-arousal strategies and patient, activity-led engagement.
- A valid driving licence and access to a car are required to conduct 1:1 sessions out in the community. (Essential)
- Right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
