Lead AC Engineer

Location: Cardiff, Cheltenham or surrounding areas

Coverage Area: South Wales with occasional travel to a small number of sites in North Wales
Salary: Competitive + Van + Overtime + Call Out Allowance + Benefits

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Lead AC Engineer to join our team supporting a portfolio of commercial sites across South Wales and selected locations in North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and self-sufficient engineer who enjoys managing their own workload and taking ownership of client relationships. This advert has been based on the requirements outlined in Job Description Person Spec - Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer

The Role

Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair of a variety of building services and HVAC systems across multiple commercial properties. This is a mobile role requiring an engineer who can work independently, prioritise workloads effectively and provide a first-class service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a portfolio of commercial sites.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC and building services faults.
  • Service and maintain air conditioning systems and associated controls.
  • Complete accurate service reports and recommend remedial works where required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and site contacts.
  • Liaise with helpdesk, administration teams and Contract Managers to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call out rota.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
  • Manage your own diary and workload with minimal supervision.

What We're Looking For

  • Experienced Building Services, HVAC, Air Conditioning or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Able to work independently and make informed engineering decisions on site.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Experience working within commercial environments.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • F-Gas Category 1 qualification preferred.
  • Electrical qualifications advantageous.
  • Good understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • Competent with reporting systems, Outlook and mobile working technology.
