Job Title

Senior Access to Information Officer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Access to Information Officer to provide operational support for the effective, lawful and timely processing of requests for information across the Trusts and services supported by Innovate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for the effective, lawful and timely processing of requests for information across the Trusts and services supported by Innovate.
  • Manage routine and more complex access to information cases, including Subject Access Requests, Access to Health Records requests and Freedom of Information requests.
  • Apply appropriate disclosure, exemption and redaction requirements.
  • Ensure applicants, representatives and staff receive clear, accurate and timely support throughout the process.
  • Explain complex information clearly and professionally to applicants, representatives, colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and expertise to Access to Information Officers and Administrator.
  • Support the administration of the Infreemation FOI and SAR system.
  • Monitor performance, quality-check outputs, escalate risks or delays.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in workflows, reporting and communications.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sound judgement.
  • Good understanding of information rights legislation.
  • Previous experience of managing or supporting Subject Access Requests and Freedom of Information requests.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
