Account Director
About Myplayer
Myplayer is a retail technology platform helping global brands and retailers make physical retail more interactive, measurable, and connected.
Our technology powers digital experiences across touchscreens, QR, NFC, and connected retail fixtures, helping shoppers explore and understand products while giving brands valuable insight into how customers engage in physical stores.
We work with major global brands and retailers across multiple markets and are looking for an Account Director to develop some of our most important customer relationships.
The Role
We’re looking for a commercially minded Account Director to own, develop, and grow a portfolio of major brand accounts.
Your objective is to take successful Myplayer deployments and turn them into deep, long-term strategic partnerships, expanding our technology across customers’ markets, retail channels, product categories, and teams.
You’ll build relationships across complex organisations, create internal advocates for Myplayer, demonstrate the value we’re delivering, and continually identify where we should go next. This is not simply an account servicing role.
You’ll be expected to understand your customers’ businesses, their retail strategies, and their organisations. You’ll know where Myplayer is currently being used, where it could be used next, and who you need to build relationships with to make that happen.
Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for making Myplayer increasingly valuable, visible, and embedded within our customers’ businesses.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own Major Customer Relationships
- Act as the senior commercial relationship owner for a portfolio of major brands.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across retail, shopper marketing, trade marketing, digital, retail media, visual merchandising, and other relevant teams.
- Develop relationships beyond our existing contacts, building a network of advocates and decision-makers across customer organisations.
- Establish regular meetings and strategic account reviews to understand priorities, upcoming initiatives, and opportunities.
Grow Our Strategic Accounts
- Develop clear account growth plans identifying where Myplayer can expand across:
- Countries and markets
- Retailers and retail channels
- Product categories
- Brands and business units
- Campaigns and product launches
- Myplayer products and capabilities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll actively look for whitespace within accounts and turn successful individual deployments into wider programmes. Rather than waiting for customers to brief us, you’ll understand their plans early enough to identify and develop opportunities proactively.
Create Internal Advocates
A major part of the role is helping our customers promote successful Myplayer projects internally. You’ll make sure stakeholders understand the results we’re delivering and have the insight, data, case studies, and materials they need to share that success with colleagues.
You’ll identify internal champions and work with them to introduce Myplayer to new teams, markets, and decision-makers. The goal is to create customers who don’t just use Myplayer; they actively advocate for it within their organisations.
Drive Adoption and Make Myplayer Stick
- You’ll become an expert in the Myplayer platform and help customers get maximum value from it.
- You’ll educate and train customer teams, helping them understand both how to use the platform and what’s possible with it.
- You’ll work with customers to establish processes around content, deployments, analytics, and reporting so Myplayer becomes increasingly embedded within the way they manage physical retail.
- You’ll monitor adoption and engagement, proactively identifying opportunities to improve how customers use the platform.
Where customers need practical support, you’ll coordinate with our Product, Creative, and Operations teams to make sure they get the help they need.
Turn Insight Into Opportunity
- Use Myplayer’s analytics and customer results to demonstrate value and start conversations about what should happen next.
- Understand upcoming product launches, campaigns, retail programmes, and strategic priorities.
- Bring relevant ideas and opportunities to customers based on what we’re learning across their estate and the wider retail market.
Help customers continually improve their physical retail experiences rather than simply repeating previous deployments.
Own the Commercial Account Plan
- Maintain a clear strategic plan for each major account, including relationships, current deployments, opportunities, renewals, and longer-term growth potential.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of expansion opportunities within your accounts.
- Work with our wider commercial team to develop proposals and commercial opportunities.
- Maintain accurate account and opportunity information within our CRM and provide clear forecasts for account growth.

You’ll need:
- Experience owning and growing major customer accounts

What Success Looks Like
Success isn’t simply having happy customers.
We want our Account Director to build customers who understand Myplayer, use it extensively, see measurable value from it, and advocate for it internally.
Over time, successful accounts should become broader and deeper, expanding into additional markets, retailers, categories, teams, and Myplayer capabilities.
You’ll be responsible for retention, adoption, relationships, internal advocacy, expansion, and ultimately account revenue.
The goal is simple: Turn great projects into strategic accounts, and strategic accounts into long-term partnerships.
