Senior Account Director, Digital – Healthcare & Life Sciences Communications
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 DOE + bonus + benefits

Are you a digitally-savvy Account Director who thrives on variety – someone equally comfortable setting a channel strategy, briefing a campaign, and being the trusted voice a client turns to when it matters?

We're working with one of the UK's fastest-growing communications consultancies to find a Senior Account Director, Digital to join a close-knit, high-performing digital team. This is a business on a genuine growth trajectory, with an outstanding reputation across healthcare, life sciences and pharmaceuticals – and a digital practice that's scaling fast.

This is a true "second-in-command" role within a team of 6–7 digital specialists. You'll be hands-on with strategy and delivery, a mentor to junior colleagues, and a key driver of commercial growth – all while working on some of the biggest healthcare and life sciences brands in the world.

The Role

  • Act as a trusted digital adviser to senior clients, providing strategic counsel and constructive challenge
  • Lead the development of integrated digital strategies and channel plans across paid, earned, owned and shared media
  • Oversee delivery across multiple accounts – budgets, timelines, resourcing and quality control
  • Bring strong working knowledge across paid and organic social, SEO/GEO, media buying, content and analytics – you don't need to be a specialist in every channel, but you do need to be genuinely digitally fluent
  • Interpret performance data (Google Analytics, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Ads, Meta, Semrush) and translate it into clear client recommendations
  • Coach and support junior and mid-level team members, contributing to a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture
  • Support new business activity – proposals, pitches, audits and digital recommendations
  • Roughly 65% client-facing delivery, 35% commercial growth, resourcing and internal contribution

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About You

  • c.7 years' experience in a digital, integrated or communications agency environment
  • A genuine generalist: strong on strategy and client leadership, but able to talk credibly across the tools – particularly social (organic and paid)
  • Confident presenter with a clear, considered way of thinking – you'll be asked to demonstrate this at interview
  • Comfortable in regulated or complex sectors; healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is a strong plus but not essential for the right candidate
  • A natural relationship-builder who enjoys client counsel as much as campaign delivery
  • Commercially minded, with an understanding of scopes, budgets and profitability
