The Role – Senior Account Executive
At Freud Communications, our client portfolio spans a diverse range of industries—from global brands like Danone, Nike, and EY, to impactful initiatives such as You Can Adopt (NHS).
As a Senior Account Executive, you are moving from execution to ownership. You will run assigned projects with growing independence, produce output that is increasingly client-ready, and start to build trusted relationships with mid-level client contacts. You are a reliable engine of your team and a supportive presence for junior colleagues.
This role is ideal for someone with solid communications experience who is ready to take greater ownership across accounts and campaigns. We’re looking for someone with sharp writing skills, strong media instincts, sound judgement and the confidence to manage day-to-day client and team interactions with increasing autonomy. We love individuals who hustle and enjoy staying one step ahead.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Prior experience in consumer or corporate PR, gained in agency or in-house
- Strong writing ability across formats: press releases, reports, statements, and online copy
- Confident handling of media enquiries and proactive sell-ins
- Excellent time management and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to juggle multiple accounts and workstreams with varying demands
- Solid grasp of the daily news agenda and broader industry context
- Familiarity with AI tools
- Enthusiastic, proactive, hardworking, and eager to learn
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep activity moving, anticipating next steps and escalating issues as they arise
- Build trusted day-to-day relationships with junior and mid-level client contacts, providing clear updates and well-prepared meeting follow-ups
- Produce high-quality, increasingly client-ready written materials, including press releases, messaging documents, reports, statements, social copy and briefing notes
- Use strong news, cultural and audience awareness to identify relevant opportunities, develop media angles and contribute ideas that move beyond basic execution
- Handle media activity with confidence, from proactive sell-ins and journalist follow-up to handling reactive enquiries and drafting responses for senior review
- Maintain strong journalist, influencer and partner relationships, understanding who matters for each client and how best to engage them
- Coordinate campaign delivery across media, social, influencer, partnerships, experiential and specialist teams, ensuring work is joined up and deadlines are met
- Prepare agendas, contact reports, status documents, coverage updates and evaluation reports that are accurate, useful and delivered on time
- Support measurement and optimisation by tracking performance, drawing out insights and suggesting practical improvements for future activity
- Guide and support junior colleagues by briefing tasks clearly, reviewing first drafts where appropriate and helping maintain team momentum
- Develop commercial awareness by understanding scopes of work, time allocation, budgets and the importance of delivering efficiently against client priorities
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve research, ideation, drafting, reporting and workflow efficiency, while applying sound judgement and quality control
- Embrace our cornerstones of Love & Work—bringing passion to everything we do and the resilience to see it through. You’ll also be part of a team that values belonging: we collaborate with purpose, connect authentically, embrace diverse perspectives and support one another.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
