Senior Account Executive – PropTech & Smart Buildings

Location: London / Hybrid

We’re partnering with an established and highly respected commercial property specialist to appoint a Business Development & Sales Lead for its intelligent building and energy optimisation platform.

The platform uses smart technology, automation and real-time building data to help commercial property owners improve operational performance, reduce energy consumption and deliver measurable cost and carbon savings.

Already successfully deployed across a significant commercial property portfolio, the business is now investing in its next phase of growth. This person will lead expansion into new landlords, asset managers, investors and property portfolios across the UK.

This is a hands-on, full-cycle sales position. You will have the backing, client relationships and technical expertise of a well-established property business, alongside the autonomy to shape the commercial growth of an increasingly important technology-led proposition.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a proactive new-business strategy.
  • Identifying and opening relationships with commercial property owners, landlords, investors and asset managers.
  • Building and managing a high-quality sales pipeline from initial prospecting through to close.
  • Leading senior client meetings, presentations, proposals and commercial negotiations.
  • Translating a technical, data-led solution into clear outcomes around cost, energy, sustainability and building performance.
  • Developing opportunities patiently across sales cycles that can range from immediate requirements to longer-term portfolio decisions.
  • Expanding initial opportunities across larger, multi-asset property portfolios.
  • Working closely with property, building consultancy, sustainability and technical specialists to create commercially effective solutions.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to the organisation’s wider property and consultancy services.
  • Representing the proposition externally and building its profile across the commercial real estate market.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For

We’re open to different levels of experience, but you will need to demonstrate:

  • A successful track record in B2B business development or full-cycle sales.
  • Experience generating your own opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
  • The ability to build senior relationships and develop opportunities over the longer term.
  • A credible, engaging and enthusiastic presentation style.
  • Experience selling consultative, technology-led or operational solutions.
  • Clear evidence of working toward and achieving commercial targets.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to communicate technical value simply.
  • The confidence to operate independently as the first dedicated salesperson for the proposition.
  • A collaborative, relationship-led approach rather than an overly transactional or high-pressure sales style.

Experience selling into commercial landlords, property owners, asset managers or investors would be particularly valuable.

Exposure to PropTech, smart buildings, energy management, sustainability, building performance, facilities management or commercial property services would also be beneficial, although a strong sales record and the ability to learn the market are more important than being deeply technical.

Why Consider It?

  • Take commercial ownership of a proven technology-led proposition.
  • Join a respected, established and financially secure property organisation.
  • Sell a solution with clear and measurable cost, energy and sustainability outcomes.
  • Work directly with senior leadership and experienced technical specialists.
  • Shape the sales strategy rather than inheriting a rigid playbook.
  • Develop relationships with some of the UK’s leading property owners and investors.
  • Opportunity for longer-term progression as the commercial function grows.
  • Competitive salary plus performance-related bonus.
  • Hybrid working and a broad employee benefits package.
