Senior Account Executive

This is a senior, hands-on sales role for someone who has already proven they can close. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will own your own book of business end-to-end, running full deal cycles solo from first conversation through to close, while also operating as the senior presence on the floor.

Stepping in as a closer to help colleagues land accounts, and mentoring an Analyst or BDR through their own pipeline.

What sets this role apart is the trust it carries and the platform behind it. You'll have spot and forward execution rights, real ownership over how a trade gets done rather than just how it's sold, backed by alt21's market-leading technology and a genuinely diverse product offering that lets you solve for a client's actual needs instead of pitching a single product. We sit deliberately in the middle of brokers, banks and fintechs. Sharper and more agile than a bank, deeper and more specialist than a broker, more established and trusted than a fintech and that positioning is exactly what lets you win deals your competitors can't.

Strong candidates will already have a track record that's earned this level of trust, consistent solo closes, sound judgement under pressure, and a genuine instinct for coaching newer sales people rather than just outperforming them. This is not a role for someone who wants to keep closing the same way forever, you're expected to help raise the level of everyone around you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Own and run a personal book of business end-to-end, from prospecting through to solo close, hitting monthly targets of 10 qualified accounts, 4 meetings/demos booked and 3 new accounts.
  • Maintain a high, consistent level of outbound activity (50 communications/day) as the engine behind your own pipeline.
  • Execute spot and forward FX deals directly for your clients, owning both the sale and the trade.
  • Step in as a closer when required on accounts to help colleagues get a deal over the line, without taking primary ownership of that business.
  • Act as a point of reference and informal mentor for Analysts and BDRs, passing on the technique and product knowledge that got you here.
  • If Head of sales deems it appropriate to give you a direct report, manage their day-to-day development and pipeline as your first step into people leadership.

Automation, systems & technology

  • Work fluently across alt21's CRM, dealing and execution platforms as the backbone of how you manage your book — comfortable enough to spot where a manual step is slowing you down.
  • Bring a "why isn't this automated?" mindset to your own workflow: flag repetitive admin or reporting tasks that could be templated, automated or handed off, rather than just working around them.
  • Use the data and dashboards available to you to manage your pipeline proactively, rather than waiting to be told where the gaps are.

Leadership & collaboration

  • Mentor and coach less experienced sales people on live deals, giving real feedback rather than generic advice.
  • Work with the Head of Sales on strategic revenue generation, not just individual target delivery.
  • Collaborate with Account Directors and other Senior AEs to share best practice across the floor.
  • Build genuinely cross-functional relationships with operations and onboarding to keep your clients' experience smooth end-to-end.

Personal specification

Essential

  • A proven track record of closing FX or similar B2B sales deals solo, consistently and repeatedly.
  • Strong working knowledge of spot and forward FX products, and confidence discussing them with clients directly.
  • Comfortable carrying and being accountable for a personal revenue target.
  • Sound judgement — able to assess risk, prioritise, and decide without needing every step signed off.
  • A genuine instinct for coaching and developing less experienced colleagues.

Desirable

  • Prior experience mentoring, training or informally leading junior sales people.
  • Familiarity with options or other structured hedging products, even without direct execution experience.
  • Exposure to CRM/sales-engagement tooling and an interest in using it to work smarter, not just harder.
  • Experience managing or being accountable for someone else's output.
  • A track record of winning back or growing accounts beyond their original scope.
