About The Role

Cheshire Insurance Brokers (CIB), part of Specialist Risk Group, are seeking a Senior Commercial Account Handler to join our growing team. Based in our Cheshire office, this role offers the opportunity to work within a respected, long‑established brokerage known for delivering high‑quality, specialist advice and exceptional client service.

You’ll play a critical role in supporting the Director with a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, across our market-leading book of Recruitment, Fleet, Medical Malpractice and Specialist risks.

This position combines the stability and resources of SRG with the personal, relationship‑driven service culture that defines Cheshire Insurance Brokers. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone looking to deepen their technical expertise, work across more complex risks, and build a long‑term career within a specialist broking environment.

What you will be doing

  • Manage day‑to‑day servicing of an established portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality experience.
  • Handle renewals, MTAs, endorsements and client queries, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the policy lifecycle.
  • Support Account Executives with preparation of renewal packs, market presentations, client reports and documentation.
  • Engage with insurers across commercial and professional lines, including cyber liability, professional indemnity, property, liability and sector‑specific covers.
  • Coordinate scheme and delegated authority work, supporting the placement and administration of specialist recruitment‑sector schemes.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with FCA and SRG standards.
  • Contribute to structured market reviews, gathering and comparing quotations and supporting negotiation strategies.
  • Champion CIB’s service ethos, ensuring clients receive the clarity, professionalism and peace of mind we are known for.

Who we are looking for

This role will suit an ambitious individual who thrives in a client‑focused environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. You’ll be confident managing commercial accounts and comfortable working closely with both clients and insurers.

We Are Looking For Individuals With

  • At least 5 years’ experience in commercial insurance account handling.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and professional lines, including cyber and PI.
  • Experience supporting or administering delegated authority or scheme business (highly desirable).
  • Background in the recruitment insurance sector (desirable but not essential).
  • High attention to detail and confidence producing clear, professional documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and insurers.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset aligned with CIB’s commitment to specialist advice and exceptional service.
