Senior Account Handler / Director Support

Location: South Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000
Benefits: Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home)

About the Company

An established, highly respected independent insurance brokerage that has become part of one of the UK's fastest-growing insurance groups following a successful acquisition. The business has retained its close-knit, family-focused culture whilst benefiting from the investment, infrastructure and long-term opportunities that come with a larger national group.

With decades of expertise, the team has built an outstanding reputation within the recruitment sector alongside a diverse commercial portfolio. The leadership team remains actively involved in the business and is committed to developing the next generation of talent.

Role Summary

This is far more than a traditional Senior Account Handler position.

You'll become the trusted right hand to the Managing Director, supporting the management of a portfolio of larger, more complex commercial clients whilst taking ownership of your own book of business. You'll be heavily involved in broking, renewals, client management and strategic support, with genuine scope to progress into a more senior position as responsibilities evolve and to support succession plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Senior Account Handler, Client Manager, Commercial Broker or Account Executive looking for a role that offers genuine career progression rather than simply managing another portfolio.

You'll join a business where culture genuinely matters, relationships come first and there is a clear long-term plan to develop future leaders as the founding directors gradually reduce their day-to-day involvement.

If this role isn't quite right, it's still worth speaking to one of our specialist team — we may be working on something that hasn't hit the market yet.
