Senior Account Manager, Public Sector & Defence | Tech Talent & Consulting Services
City of London · Monday to Thursday in office, Fridays remote · £60,000–£80,000 base (dependent on experience) · OTE to circa £160,000, uncapped with accelerator
You've spent years doing both sides of this job: winning new business and then actually running with it, growing the accounts you land instead of handing them off. You know how to hold a live book and build a new pipeline at the same time, and you're just as comfortable defending and expanding an existing relationship as you are opening a door that's never been opened before.
We're hiring on behalf of a highly respected, PE-backed B Corp consultancy, working with over 100 organisations - including FTSE 100s - and at the forefront of how UK organisations adopt AI. They don't sell software. They sell people: high-calibre, trained tech consultants deployed into client teams, and they upskill clients' own staff through their academy. Think hire, train and deploy, and capability-building, not a platform.
This is a hybrid seat, and deliberately so. You'll take ownership of an established portfolio of public sector accounts from day one - growing them, deepening them, making sure nothing gets left on the table - while also going after new business across both Public Sector and Defence. It's a rare mix: immediate revenue responsibility on a live book, plus a genuinely open patch to hunt in.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
To be clear, this is a services and talent sale, not a software sale. If your background spans both account growth and new business in Public Sector or Defence, you'll recognise it straight away.
What you'll be doing
- Owning and growing an existing portfolio of Public Sector accounts from day one
- Building new business pipeline in parallel, across both Public Sector and Defence
- Balancing account growth (renewals, expansion, deepening relationships) with new-logo wins
- Working Public Sector and Defence procurement routes - G-Cloud, Crown Commercial Service, DOS, framework call-offs - with confidence
- Bringing judgement to where you spend your time: farming what's already there, hunting what isn't yet
You'll thrive here if you
- Have 5+ years in a blended new-business and account management role selling recruitment, staffing, RPO or MSP, consulting or training into UK Public Sector and/or Defence
- Can run a live book and build new pipeline at the same time, without one crowding out the other
- Understand how government and Defence buy headcount and services, and how framework procurement and clearance shape delivery
- Can open senior doors as well as retain and grow the ones already open
- Want a seat with immediate revenue plus room to build
- Can commit to Monday to Thursday in their City office (this one is firm)
