Summary
Senior Account Managers at Battenhall work across a wide range of digital communications disciplines, including social media (organic and paid), PR, influencers, and data and insights. They have a genuine passion for the industry, a depth of knowledge and experience, and a desire to continue to grow their skill set and that of their colleagues and line reports. Across retained clients and project work, Senior Account Managers are the driving force, helping to manage and oversee teams, day to day activity and longer term planning, ensuring we as an agency deliver excellent results.
Responsibilities
Working as part of a fast growing, global team, a Senior Account Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Running and helping to lead all elements of project work from kick off to delivery, plus day-to-day running of your retained client portfolio, under the direction of Account Directors, and Client Leads.
- Being the key point of contact for clients and building relationships with new and existing clients.
- Identifying opportunities for growth within our client roster, and supporting your peers with idea generation and the sell-in of additional work.
- Confidently and accurately scope new projects for existing clients, and work with senior members of the team to scope new business.
- Take a proactive role in client and new biz brainstorms, developing ideas with the client brief in mind.
- Managing client teams and their workload, supporting Client Leads with planning resource via the Resource Team, and ensuring client work is delivered within the agreed scope and budget.
- Working successfully as a global team, collaborating with team members in the UK, UCAN and other regional markets to manage clients and plan resources.
- Being a key player in client meetings, new business pitches, and events (virtually, or when appropriate, in-person).
- Delivering strategic counsel and support to clients proactively and reactively, with the help of Client Leads when required.
- Looking for opportunities to innovate, keeping up to date with breaking news and what’s trending, and ensuring we are one step ahead of our clients and competitors.
- Proactively attending industry events, conferences and networking sessions, and sharing key learnings with relevant team members.
- Working across multiple accounts and projects at the same time.
- Utilising non-client time to proactively get involved in Battenhall brand communications and company initiatives such as Taskforces.
- Line managing 2-3 Senior Account Executives / Account Executives helping to develop their learning and understanding of client and Battenhall business ways of working.
- Reporting to and seeking guidance from Account Directors and Client Leads on day-to-day work and the bigger picture, longer term planning, while ensuring collaboration across the whole team.

Skills and qualifications

- Minimum 4 years experience in a social media, digital comms, design or PR agency, or working in a communications or marketing department in-house.
- Experience working across multiple industries and sectors would be highly valued.
- Confident in your abilities, regularly sharing insight around your specialist skills.
- You will have strong interpersonal skills virtually and in-person. You will need to demonstrate outstanding verbal English, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to write exceptional copy.
- You will need to manage SoWs, timelines, resourcing and client budgets with excellent attention to detail.
- You will need to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines and meet all the demands and pressures of teams and clients. You will need to work quickly and efficiently without compromising on quality.
- You will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, identifying improvements to ways of working and collaborating with directors and the Senior Leadership Team to implement positive change.
- Ability to work across multiple global accounts at the same time.
- Entrepreneurial, self-starter approach, motivated by success and eager to develop director skills.
