Senior Account Manager | Public Sector Industry
Manchester | Flexible Hybrid | £55,000 - £60,000 Base + £20,000 - £25,000 OTE
Are you an experienced apprenticeships sales professional who thrives on building and growing strategic client relationships?
We’re partnering with a leading UK organisation in the skills and professional development space to find a Senior Account Manager to take ownership of a small number of high-value strategic public sector accounts.
This is a senior role, focused on growing, retaining and expanding existing relationships across the public sector.
The Role
You’ll become a trusted strategic partner to senior stakeholders, identifying opportunities to grow apprenticeship programmes and expand relationships across the wider business.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing and growing a small portfolio of strategic public sector accounts
- Building relationships with senior and C-suite stakeholders
- Driving upsell, cross-sell, renewals and account growth
- Identifying new commercial opportunities within existing clients
- Developing strategic account plans and long-term growth strategies
- Leading complex client conversations, proposals and bids
- Working closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Representing the organisation at key industry events

What We're Looking For
You’ll need proven experience selling apprenticeships. We’re particularly interested in candidates from apprenticeship providers or businesses delivering apprenticeship programmes, with experience selling into complex organisations.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Strong strategic account management experience
- Experience selling into the public sector
- Experience engaging C-suite and senior decision-makers
- A consultative, commercially driven approach
- Strong understanding of complex sales and stakeholder management
