About Peritus
Peritus Cloud Security is a growing UK cyber security consultancy helping organisations improve their security across cloud, email, endpoints, networks, vulnerability management, and cyber resilience.
We work with leading technology partners including Microsoft, Mimecast, Qualys, AppCheck, and others, combining best-in-class security technology with practical consultancy and managed services.
We’re now looking for an experienced, commercially driven Senior Account Manager to help us win new customers, convert more of the opportunities we generate, and build deeper, longer-term relationships with our existing accounts.
The Role
This is a broad commercial role spanning new business, account growth, and relationship management.
- You’ll receive a mixture of marketing-generated leads, vendor opportunities, referrals, events, and targeted prospecting activity - but we’re also looking for someone who is proactive and capable of creating opportunities for themselves.
- You’ll be expected to identify target organisations, build relationships, open conversations, and develop your own pipeline alongside the opportunities generated by the wider business.
- Once an opportunity is created, your role is to understand the customer, build credibility and rapport, identify where Peritus can genuinely help, and progress the relationship through to commercial close.
- Alongside new business, you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of existing Peritus customers, identifying opportunities to introduce additional services, technologies, and consultancy where there is a genuine need.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership. You shouldn’t need to be told who to call, when to follow up, or where the next opportunity might come from.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business through a combination of self-sourced prospecting, networking, referrals, vendor relationships, and targeted outreach.
- Develop and convert opportunities generated through Peritus marketing campaigns, events, and partner activity.
- Build and maintain a healthy new business pipeline.
- Identify target organisations and proactively open new commercial relationships.
- Build strong relationships with IT Directors, CISOs, Heads of IT, and other senior technology stakeholders.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing Peritus customers.
- Identify opportunities for cross-sell and upsell across our cyber security portfolio.
- Develop dormant or under-utilised customer accounts.
- Understand customers' business, technology, and security priorities and translate these into relevant solutions.
- Work closely with our technical and solutions team throughout the sales process.
- Manage opportunities from initial conversation through proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Build long-term account plans and maintain regular, meaningful customer contact.
- Support renewals while identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecasting information within HubSpot.
- Build strong relationships with key technology partners and work collaboratively on joint opportunities.
- Meet agreed revenue and gross-profit targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is commercially ambitious, proactive, and naturally good with people.
You’ll probably already be working within an IT reseller, MSP, cyber security consultancy, software provider, or technology services business.
You’ll be comfortable developing existing relationships, but equally comfortable creating a new opportunity from scratch.
Ideally, you'll have:
- 3+ years' experience in B2B technology sales, account management, or business development.
- Experience selling IT, cloud, managed services, or cyber security solutions.
- A proven track record of winning new business.
- Experience growing and developing existing customer accounts.
- Strong prospecting and pipeline-building skills.
- A self-starting approach and the ability to work independently.
- The confidence to identify opportunities and pursue them without waiting for leads to be handed to you.
- Strong commercial instincts and the confidence to progress opportunities and ask for the business.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to speak credibly with senior IT and security stakeholders.
- Excellent follow-up and organisational skills.
- A consultative rather than transactional sales style.
- The resilience and persistence required to develop longer-term B2B opportunities.
Cyber security experience would be highly advantageous, but we would also consider a strong IT or technology salesperson with the right commercial approach and willingness to learn.
The Person
The right person is likely to be someone who sees opportunity everywhere.
You’ll be naturally curious about customers, confident starting conversations, and comfortable building relationships over time.
You’ll enjoy the freedom of working in a smaller, growing business where you can make things happen without layers of process or management.
You’ll be someone who:
- takes ownership of their number;
- creates opportunities rather than simply waiting for them;
- follows up consistently;
- enjoys networking and developing relationships;
- spots opportunities within existing accounts;
- is comfortable asking for introductions and referrals;
- understands that strong sales relationships are built over time;
- and is motivated by both earning potential and helping grow the business.

What Success Looks Like
We’re looking for someone who combines strong relationship management with genuine commercial drive.
You’ll be proactive in creating opportunities, confident in building new relationships, and equally focused on developing the potential within existing accounts.
You’ll take ownership of your pipeline, follow up consistently, and look for ways to turn conversations into long-term customer relationships.
The right person will be:
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Comfortable generating their own new business opportunities.
- Strong at building rapport and trusted relationships.
- Commercially aware and confident progressing opportunities.
- Naturally curious about customers and their wider business needs.
- Skilled at identifying cross-sell and account growth opportunities.
- Persistent and organised in their follow-up.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.
- Motivated by building long-term commercial value, not just short-term wins.
We’ll provide a strong platform of existing customers, marketing activity, vendor relationships, and incoming opportunities — and we’re looking for someone who can use that platform to create even more growth.
What You'll Have to Work With
You won’t be starting with a blank sheet of paper.
You’ll have access to:
- Existing Peritus customers and accounts.
- Marketing-generated leads and campaigns.
- Vendor-generated opportunities.
- Targeted prospecting data.
- Industry events and networking opportunities.
- Established technology partnerships.
- Technical and solutions support throughout the sales process.
- A broad cyber security portfolio with significant cross-sell potential.
- Direct access to the leadership team.
We’ll give you plenty to work with - but we also expect you to bring your own energy, ideas, and commercial drive.
Why Join Peritus?
Peritus is growing, and this role offers the opportunity to have a genuine impact on that growth.
You’ll have more autonomy than you might find within a large reseller or corporate sales organisation, and the freedom to build your own customer relationships and pipeline.
You’ll work closely with the leadership and technical teams and have the opportunity to shape how we develop accounts, approach new markets, and grow the commercial side of the business.
For the right person, there is significant earning potential and the opportunity to develop into a senior commercial position as the business grows.

- Uncapped commission with realistic OTE of £80,000–£100,000+
