Purpose of the job

Our Senior Account Managers work alongside HH Global Account Directors, client stakeholders, suppliers and other global Colleagues to ensure solutions are developed and delivered on time and against operational and financial business targets.

You’ll be a leader who can focus on the vision and strategies of the account - managing the tactical components of running the daily business, balancing daily support needs with long-term strategy and successfully combining vision and reality into effective plans. This role combines pitching and strategic planning as well as driving excellent project delivery for existing clients.

Our current areas of service delivery to this Retail client include 2D print and in-store temporary POSM, but have a heavy bias towards Door Drop, Distribution, Door to Door and Consumer Intel services and solutions.

You will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of 3, setting individual and team objectives to meet key business drivers whilst actively monitoring and managing performance.

This role operates on a blended basis between the local HH Global office, client site(s) and home as necessary. You are required in our Manchester office 1 or 2 days per week and with occasional client based work in North Lincolnshire.

Key responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in the delivery of client satisfaction through client liaison and the management of internal resource departments, your client engagement team and external suppliers
  • Own and resolve issues, quality concerns or corrective actions - influence client thinking to produce outstanding results
  • Manage the ongoing personal development of your team members through appraisals, one‐to‐one meetings, mentoring and training
  • Develop effective account growth strategies and manage opportunities for the client, building yearly development plans and managing the overall financial performance and success of the account
  • Informing clients of competitor insights, leaning on our internal sources, and suppliers – Whistl / Market Reach / JICMAIL
  • Work with the Account Director to sell in new service lines and cost saving initiatives
  • Providing technical input and advice on projects as required to achieve high quality standards
  • Regular MI reporting, production of account relationship plans, risk identification and management
  • Relationship Management with all key stakeholders
  • Contract review and renewal

Knowledge, skills + experience

  • Advanced client service management experience, including time spent working on client site(s), developing and maintaining client relationships and across multiple vendors
  • Experience and a clear understanding on all aspects of Door Drop and Door to Door services and solutions - this is a high spend service line within the client portfolio covering customer profiling, door drop distribution, potential future trial options, commercials
  • Understanding of Royal Mail / distribution rates and how to achieve savings
  • You may be operating at Senior Account Management level right now or perhaps be an experienced and highly skilled Account Managers seeking progression
  • Strong negotiation and consensus building skills when dealing with internal customers, stakeholders and team members
  • Has built client success - delivered account planning, client service plans, KPIs, budgeting, forecasting, strategic account leadership and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • A proven track record of operational management for client services departments, P+L / budget management and account level financial reporting
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), with clarity of expression and the ability to present to and influence various stakeholder groups at all levels of seniority
