Senior Account Manager
Location: Birmingham
Reporting to: Account Director
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive senior account manager to join our growing team. This is a client-facing role responsible for managing multiple accounts, developing and delivering PR and comms strategies, and building strong relationships with clients, journalists and key stakeholders. You will act as a strategic adviser to your clients, integrating all areas of comms into an effective delivery plan with strong cross-channel thinking.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the media landscape, excellent communication skills and the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously. You'll be highly organised, commercially aware and capable of leading campaigns from planning through to execution and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts, acting as the primary day-to-day contact.
- Develop and deliver strategic, integrated comms campaigns that align with client objectives.
- Confidently lead client meetings, presentations and regular reporting sessions.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Identify proactive comms opportunities, news angles and creative campaign ideas for clients.
- Support business development activities, including proposals and pitch presentations where required.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, media developments and changes within the communications landscape.
- Keep on top of client budgets and effectively coordinate teams to deliver work within those set parameters

Skills & Experience
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of public relations principles and best practices.
- Proven experience managing client accounts within a PR agency or in-house communications environment.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK media landscape and how to secure press coverage.
- Strong media relations experience with the ability to build journalist relationships.
- Cross-channel thinking
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience writing press releases, articles, features and briefing documents.
- Strong project management and campaign delivery skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders towards shared deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities for client growth.
- Strong presentation and client relationship management skills.
- Business development (networking, proposal writing, tenders, pitches)
- Events management
- Crisis comms experience is highly desirable

Experience Required
- Previous experience in a PR Account Manager or Communications role.
- Demonstrable track record of securing media coverage and delivering successful PR campaigns.
- Experience working with multiple clients and managing concurrent projects.
- Agency experience preferred but not essential.
