Senior Accountant

Birmingham Area | £44,000 - £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing and reviewing a varied portfolio of client work while supporting the development of junior team members. Working within a professional accountancy environment, you'll provide trusted advice to clients and ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with regulatory requirements.

Based within easy reach of the Birmingham Area, this position offers a varied workload, exposure to a broad client base, and genuine opportunities for progression.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reviewing and preparing statutory accounts and management accounts for a range of clients.
  • Overseeing the completion of corporation tax, personal tax, partnership tax, and related compliance work.
  • Providing financial guidance and identifying opportunities to add value for clients.
  • Reviewing the work of junior colleagues and supporting their technical development.
  • Assisting with tax planning calculations and wider advisory projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant accounting standards and legislation.
  • Supporting the wider team with technical queries and problem-solving.
  • Contributing to the delivery of an outstanding client experience.

What We're Looking For

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Experience reviewing the work of other team members.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and tax compliance.
  • Experience preparing accounts for medium-sized businesses and group structures.
  • Confident using a range of accounting software packages.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Desire to mentor others and continue developing professionally.
