Role Description
The Senior Accountant will manage and review financial statements, general ledgers, and management accounts for a portfolio of business and personal clients. Responsibilities include:

- Preparing and analyzing financial reports
- Overseeing month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
- Supervising junior team members, reviewing their work, and providing mentorship and technical guidance
- Liaising directly with clients, offering insights on financial performance, supporting business planning, and contributing to audit engagements and tax computations

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston Upon Hull.
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, management accounts preparation, and general ledger management
- Experience with audit procedures, compliance reviews, and assurance engagements
- Proficiency in tax compliance and planning for businesses and individuals
- Comfort with accounting software and related digital tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective communication and client relationship skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and support junior team members
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience at a senior level
- Experience in practice-based accountancy, ideally serving sectors such as construction, retail, or manufacturing
- Ability to work on-site in Kingston Upon Hull and manage multiple engagements and deadlines
