Responsibilities

Senior Accountant

London | Hybrid (4 days per week in the office)

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong Lloyd's Market insurance experience and a background in regulatory reporting, Lloyd's returns, FP&A, or financial reporting to take on a varied and hands-on role.

Reporting to the Syndicate Reporting Manager, you will support the delivery of financial and regulatory reporting across the business, ensuring all financial returns and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver Lloyd's regulatory returns, including QMA, QMB, and other reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of Solvency UK returns and statutory accounts.
  • Produce financial reporting for group and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Complete technical accounting activities, including journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Analyse financial results and investigate variances.
  • Support quarterly board and management reporting.
  • Work closely with underwriting and finance teams to validate data and reporting outputs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience within the London Market / Lloyd's insurance sector.
  • Has strong experience preparing Lloyd's returns and regulatory reporting.
  • Has experience within FP&A, financial reporting, or regulatory reporting.
  • Demonstrates excellent Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
  • Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Is a hands-on individual who enjoys getting involved in the detail and driving deliverables through to completion.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Is a strong communicator who can build relationships across finance and the wider business.
  • Holds an accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) or is qualified by experience.
