Armstrongs is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Coventry.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant — or a Semi-Senior Accountant ready to take the next step — to develop their career within a supportive, forward-thinking accountancy practice.
The Role
You’ll manage a portfolio of clients, oversee accounts and tax compliance, support junior team members and build strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Acting as a key point of contact for client queries
- Preparing and reviewing statutory and management accounts
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and self-assessment returns
- Reviewing VAT returns and supporting records
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance
- Supporting the training and development of junior accountants and trainees
- Ensuring client work is accurate, compliant and completed within deadlines
- Supporting workflow management and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency

About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- ACA / ACCA qualified, qualified by experience, or working towards qualification
- Strong UK accountancy practice experience
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax compliance
- Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar
- Strong technical, communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach to client service and problem solving
