We are seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our team.
How You’ll Shine
- Prepare and post monthly and other journals within the Sun System (accounting system), in line with relevant accounting standards, including but not limited to general accruals, prepayments amortizations, payroll journals, distributions and allocations, and other general journals.
- Oversee fixed assets tasks in preparing and posting of additions and disposals into the fixed assets register, posting monthly depreciation journals, and reconciling the Fixed assets and assets clearing accounts.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure items are cleared as required.
- Assist the Finance Manager in financial month-end reporting as well as with the delivery of financial, accounting and analytical reports and projects.
- Liaise with Consumer Finance, Revenue and Distribution, and banking partners for daily transactions
- Manage all tax requirements across NZ, Fiji and Australia including but not limited to FBT, BAS, GST, ITR, Transfer pricing and WHT (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual)
- Maintain the Lease Accounting Model, post monthly journals in accordance with AASB 16, update the lease registers, and perform the monthly reconciliations.
- Co-ordinate the preparation of the Annual and half yearly reports and filing with ASIC
- Ensure intercompany accounts are reconciled monthly and that appropriate controls are in place to minimize discrepancies
- Perform ad hoc Finance team related tasks as the business needs arise.
- Identify any areas of weakness in controls and recommend/take action.
- Administer the audit cycle and manage the relationship with external auditors.
- Maintain a strong and robust financial control environment.

- Ensure staff are adequately trained
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets for the Club and Resort Operations.

- Identify trends/root causes and take action to ensure desired results are achieved

What You Will Bring
- Degree and qualification in Accounting
- CA / CPA qualified
- Minimum 5 years of experience with majority of it in supervisory role
- System experience – Sun System and Infor Q&A, Peoplesoft, Oracle Fusion (advantageous)
- Strong IFRS/technical accounting and reporting skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team to success in a cluster environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Exposure to a multi-currency environment
- Good communication skills with ability to build relationships across the business at all levels
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines without compromising quality
