About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our expanding team at Dot Partners in the Midlands. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional who has gained substantial practice experience and is looking to elevate their career to a position with increased responsibility. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in overseeing the review process, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial statements, and providing technical accounting support. You will have direct client interaction, enabling you to build strong relationships and add value through insightful advice and professional service. The position involves working across a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses and larger, consolidated groups, with a focus on statutory accounts, group consolidations, and compliance work. The role also provides scope to participate in advisory projects, contributing to the firm's broader strategic initiatives and client solutions.

Qualifications

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong technical background
  • Proven experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Extensive knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and compliance
  • Experience in group consolidations and consolidated financial reporting
  • Confident in reviewing and challenging financial information prepared by others
  • Proficient in resolving complex technical accounting queries and working with auditors
  • Experience working with owner-managed and growing businesses
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members to develop their technical and professional skills

Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of the review process, ensuring all accounts and compliance work are accurate, complete, and adhere to technical standards
  • Managing a diverse client portfolio, providing high-quality statutory accounts, and supporting group consolidations
  • Challenging and reviewing financial data, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Providing technical guidance on complex accounting issues, helping to resolve challenging queries efficiently
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, acting as a senior point of contact for their accounting needs
  • Collaborating closely with auditors, managing queries, and ensuring smooth audit processes
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior accountants, fostering their professional growth
  • Offering guidance to the team on complex accounting matters, promoting technical excellence
  • Participating in advisory projects and value-added initiatives, leveraging your expertise to benefit clients and the firm
