Role Description

The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position located in Pentre. The Senior Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax computations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Overseeing bookkeeping and VAT returns
  • Supporting year-end processes
  • Identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and cost reduction
  • Providing proactive advisory support to clients on financial planning, cash flow management, and strategies to enhance profitability and business growth

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Supervising junior team members
  • Maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in firm processes and service delivery

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) and significant experience in practice-based accountancy.
  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.
  • Demonstrated experience in client advisory work, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and growth planning.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior colleagues and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting and tax frameworks relevant to businesses in North Wales and surrounding regions.
  • Ability to work on-site in Pentre and engage with clients in person as required.
